About me
I was given my first camera, a ubiquitous box Brownie, as a child and have been photographing ever since!
This website shows some of my recent work across a number of different fields:
portraits of actors and musicians, both formal studio shots and during live performance; weddings, where I aim for an informal style and try to capture the mood and emotion of the occasion; architecture, exteriors and interiors, which are challenging in so many technical ways; and travel, which reflects my personal impressions and reactions to the places I visit.
I was originally trained in traditional wet darkroom techniques but adopted digital technology at an early stage, first with film scanners and then with digital SLRs using Photoshop for post processing. I now teach a 3-day digital photography course at Hampton Court Studios (photo left) which covers the practical knowledge needed to make the best use of today's cameras and software.

Whilst traditional prints still make up a large part of the output from my commissioned work, for many of the weddings and events I cover I am asked to make a hard- or soft-back book - here's one from a wedding in April 2010:
